Company Overview
CardioTech International is a world-class biomaterials company
focused on customer-driven solutions for the medical device industry.
The company’s material science technology allows customers
to select from a family of customizable polymers which provide
critical attributes to support their medical device design and
development objectives. These materials possess unique benefits
in the areas of biodurability, lubricity, bio-film reduction, bio
and hemocompatibility, infection control and antimicrobial properties.
The material families, sold under the tradenames: ChronoFlex®,
ChronoThane™, HydroThane™, ChronoFilm™, HydroMed™ and
Hydroslip™ are available within a range of mechanical strengths
and physical characteristics.
These polymeric materials may be used as structural engineering
polymers or as coatings for a wide range of material sub-straights.
CardioTech’s proprietary materials have a history of use
in both short and long-term implant applications, such as stents,
artificial hearts, and vascular ports.

Collaboration with Universities
CardioTech actively engages university research centers to share in collaborative
development initiatives. Utilizing the company’s expertise in polymer synthesis,
material know-how and manufacturing processes coupled with the universities’ innovative
and solution driven projects, the goal is to continue expanding the use and functionality
of our core polymer technology.
